Hello and thank you for posting.
I am afraid I do not know what the new lump is that you have found at the site where you had a breast lump removed. It could just be swelling as a reaction to the surgery, but best to let someone in your team know so they can assess you if needed.
Take care and if you want to talk to the nurses call 0808 800 4040. Lines are open mon-fri 9-5.
Sarah.
Best to contact the breast team as advised by Sarah. I had similar and was told it was the normal swelling of the tumour bed but it turned out to be breast lymphodoema for which I am being treated at our lymphoedema centre. I also had a sizeable seroma under the arm which delayed my radiotherapy treatment. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish what is happening after the lumpectomy operation. Even the radiologist thought the swelling was a normal reaction to radiation! I hope you can get this sorted out soon.
Thank you. I've spoken to the clinic and told them I had to see the consultant Christmas Eve! for my results. I've decided to wait until then, as a new bra I've bought seems to have compressed the lump. I suffer from lymphedema in both legs anyway, but I would hate it to appear in my breast or arm. I've been told I will need to start radiotherapy in the New Year. Good luck with your treatment.
Hi there I had surgery on 3rd December and also have lump under breast. I can’t have anyone hug me and it is still very sensitive. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow so hopefully I can breathe a sigh of relief if this is normal
