In the space of 2 years my Mum has undergone 3 different bowel surgeries. April of this year was her most recent. She has had a bowel resection and we were really hopeful that she could start to get her life back again. About 3 months ago, Mum started with pain in her abdomen which got worse every time she ate something. The pain is now so bad she is barely eating and existing on build up drinks, soup and cups of tea. She doesn’t go out anymore and painkillers don’t help her. I haven’t mentioned to her but I’m concerned that she has an anastomic leak. We have another 2 weeks to wait for an X-ray and I’m just worried that Mum will get worse before then. We were really hoping that this Christmas would be better than our last 2. Mum is 76 and incredibly underweight. I’m my Mum’s carer.
I would really appreciate some advice.
Thank you so much,
