I am sorry to hear you are currently undergoing treatment for lung cancer.

We have information about the risks and causes of lung cancer on our website so do take a look at these. Whilst exposure to some chemicals may increase the risk of lung cancer it can be difficult to know for sure what the main factors were involved in an individuals cancer developing.

Unfortunately there often isn't any testing that i'm aware of that can be done to find out if an individual has been exposed to a particular chemical. The Health and Safety Executive HSE have a section of information about chemical use at work and ensuring work places have put measures in place to protect individuals working with high risk substances in their roles. As well as this inspections are usually carried out of workplaces to ensure that these standards are maintained.

I would suggest you speak with your own doctor about any concerns you have so they can also advise you further about this.
