Taking bicalutamide

Will taking bicalutamide irritate my prostrate and make me pee a.lot because I am setting out on holiday by.plane

  • Hello Alph and thanks for your post,

We have some information on our website about bicalutamide.

The side effects in the information do not mention frequently passing urine so hopefully this won't be a problem on your flight.

If you want further reassurance you could speak to a pharmacist either near you or at our hospital. Sometimes it can help to start a drug before you go on holiday so you know what side effects you may experience before you fly.

It may be a good idea to let your hospital team know that you are going abroad. They may be able to supply you with a letter about any treatment that you have had and are having particularly if you get any side effects when you are there.

I do hope that you have a lovely holiday.

If you would like to ring and chat any of this through with one of the helpline nurses then do give us a ring..  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the best,

    Catherine

  • Hi Alph, as nurse Catherine has said, and I along with my friends with prostate cancer friends agree, bicalutamide had very little if any impact on peeing, best wishes.
