Cervical stenosis

I  am post menopause and since having a cin3 result and positive hpv I have had two Letz procedures. I have been for a smear and now have cervical stenosis ( so no sample could be taken at this time).

I'm really nervous  now as have too go back to my consultant!

  • How are you getting on? I'm in a similar position, post menopause, 2 LLETZ procedures, now waiting for biopsy results.... its very stressful.

  • hey just seen this post and its so relevant to me too! i have had only 1 letz procedure and recently off back of abnormal smear i had to go for a colpsocopy, but like you both ladies, it couldnt be carried out as my cervix canal is completly closed! they want me to go for yet another smear, which means more waiting around! is it likely my 2nd smear in 6 mths is going to have a different result ?

  • So, after the tumour was removed in April, I had a follow up LLETZ in June, they got all the infected tissue out. I now need to have a hysterectomy to be safe and I'm waiting for that to be scheduled. They caught it early! Prognosis is good. Its been a very emotional and stressful process.

My smears went from borderline to CIN/CGIN to tumour, over about 3-4 years but everyone is different.

  • ah what a terrible and long journey you have been on! bless you, and you are been positive too. I am too at the 'borderline' stage my doctor assures me its nothing to worry about yet, still wants me to go for investigations, how can he know when he couldn't complete the investigation hence another smear test. sometimes I do wonder if doctors tell you that because they are trying to not to worry you?  My sister recently had a hysterectomy and shes is doing great, recovery was long but she recommends it.
