mdt follow up appointment

Hi guys i posted a few months back after i was referred for a biopsy on a mole on my back , i had my biopsy done in june and results came back to my dermatologist abouty 2/3 weeks ago , i was told by my care coordinator that there was an MDT meeting on thursday of last week and that they would be in touch, she chased them again today and ive just received a call for a follow up appoinment this weekend, im now worried i have skin cancer and my head is spinning. has anyone been through similar ?? if so are results always cancer or are there some positive stories to tell too as at the moment all i can think is doom and gloom.

thanks

  • HI Pinkfan,

Waiting for results is always a worrying time. While some people get results - both good and bad, via email, letter or phone, most surgeons prefer to give them in person. I am glad to hear that you now have a follow up appointment and I sincerely hope that it turns out to be good news.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine,

thank you for reaching out , i will keep you updated on my results, im just having a tough time at the minute as my dad has prostate cancer and should start treatment tomorrow and then me getting my results has smacked me in the face, although i have been waiting a long time for them im not sure im ready now to receive them does that make sense ?

its gonna be a long week until saturday .......

  • Hi Pinkfan,

Bless you. You have a lot to contend with at the moment. I hope that your dad's treatment goes well. Not feeling ready to receive your results now, is all par for the course. I shall be thinking of you at the weekend and am hoping for good news. Don't forget to let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,
