mdt follow up appointment

Hi guys i posted a few months back after i was referred for a biopsy on a mole on my back , i had my biopsy done in june and results came back to my dermatologist abouty 2/3 weeks ago , i was told by my care coordinator that there was an MDT meeting on thursday of last week and that they would be in touch, she chased them again today and ive just received a call for a follow up appoinment this weekend, im now worried i have skin cancer and my head is spinning. has anyone been through similar ?? if so are results always cancer or are there some positive stories to tell too as at the moment all i can think is doom and gloom.

thanks

  • HI Pinkfan,

Waiting for results is always a worrying time. While some people get results - both good and bad, via email, letter or phone, most surgeons prefer to give them in person. I am glad to hear that you now have a follow up appointment and I sincerely hope that it turns out to be good news.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Pinkfan,

  • hi All i eventually got my results which from what i could take from the day 1, DR mumbled a bit hard to understand, 2, was concentrating on have to have more removed,  anyway they said my mole was on the verge of becoming cancer she did name it but i cannot remember what or could not understand what she said. a i have to have more sking from the surrounding area removed for this i am still waiting but just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being my shoulder in need.

  • Hi Pinkfan,

    Thank you for the update.

Never be afraid to stop a doctor, if you don't understand what they say. It can be hard enough to take everything in, even if you do fully understand them. It is good that you have caught this early and that it is still at the pre-cancerous stage. I am sorry to hear that you need to have more skin removed from the surrounding area. Hopefully, this should be enough to remove any suspect area and you won't need any further treatment.

Do you know how long you are going to have to wait to get the skin removed? Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
