How to support a friend when they are diagnosed

Hi Everyone, I was told by my very old friend today that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has spread to her liver, she's 49yrs old. My heart is broken, I'm very upset l...I want to know how I can support her. We live in opposite ends of the county so I can pop around to her, if anyone has any advise on little of bits things I can do to help her in anyway I'd greatly appreciate it. Thankyou

  • Hi

im in a similar situation with my mum, she’s in London and I’m in Scotland.

I’ve found regular Face Time calls really helpful we grab a cuppa n have a long chat.

Not sure if your friend is in a relationship, my mum is single so I have asked if during all appointments if she can call me and put the call on speaker phone so I can hear what is being said and ask questions.  This lets me offer a bit more support and it’s always great to get a different perspective on things.
