Rectum cancer operation 1 year ago in May. Yearly tests came back everything was fine except CT scan which showed:-
'Multiple tiny spots on lungs
1 spot on liver - unspecific
Results back liver spot is a cyst (no cancer). No MRI scan was done of the lungs just the liver. 'Original notes states 'suspected metastasis cancer (lungs)'.
A biopsy is not an option as they are too small. Oncology notified of results. Nurse doesn't know what the next step will be.
Can you please tell me what normally happens in these cases? NHS sites suggest more CT scans to see if the spots get bigger, change shape or disappear, but they don't mention metastasis cancer.
Thank you.
