Hi There,
My dad has recently been diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer. They are still performing various scans to find out how advance it is (so far they have found it in one LN and a PET scan showed a lump in his thigh).
My mum and dad are going to all the appointments together and they keep us up to date. But they often seem a bit confused by what's going on, and they are unable to answer any of my questions.
I have resorted to doing some of my own research, and the results aren't looking very hopeful. I don't feel like I can talk to my parents about this because I don't know how aware they are really about what's going on.
Is there anything I can do to try to find out more about what's going on, why are they doing certain tests, what does it mean, what are the treatment options. Why are they doing some things and not others etc. Is there anyone I can contact to ask the questions I have about it all.
I'm feeling lost, we are all in limbo and the not knowing is just awful. I don't know what to do with myself. Its occupying my entire brain!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
