When the consultant examined me and felt a lump at the bottom of my armpit he related it to what he felt in the left breast.  He was convinced that the two were the result of cancer and ordered a mammogram followed by ultrasound and biopsies.  I presume that if there was no breast problem an ultrasound would not be needed. Do not listen to your sister!  I hope you will trust the consultant's verdict.and feel happy that you will not need treatment.

I do think as you were seen by the breast specialist team at the breast clinic and had your breast assessed you should be reassured. I say this because they are experts in all breast conditions. Not everyone needs to have an ultrasound scan. If the doctor that examined you had any concerns they would have discussed this with you and they would have suggested further tests.

If you are still worried and do not feel reassured by the breast specialist team perhaps you should go back to the GP who referred you to talk about your concerns. Usually they would get a summary letter from the breast specialist at the hospital.
