Hi Pinkymike and welcome, as someone with prostate cancer, I think every man over 50 should be offered a PSA test, and yes i have heard the false negative argument and sure 15% is a lot of mistakes but it still means 85% of the time it's accurate and as it only costs the NHS between £5 and £8 a test the cost is negligible, PS there is a new test being developed which is 94% accurate and can tell whether you have PCa or not,

You can request a PSA test from your doctor. However, they are likely to want to discuss it with you beforehand. They may also take a recent history, to check about any concerning symptoms that may have lead to you wanting the test done.

So, maybe book an appointment to see your GP about this.
