Probably be ok because they send it to people and they post it back to get tested, but i cannot be a 100% certain 

Thank you, in my fear, I hadn't thought of that and you are quite right. When I do my 3 yearly test I send it by post I'm sure it's the same test as the FIT one too.

I am sorry to hear you are needing to carry out a FIT test.

It is fine for the sample to be left at room temperature and because these can be posted the sample is usually fine outside of a fridge for a week. Therefore it is fine for you to carry out the sampling the next time you go to the toilet and then take it to the surgery ( if it is the following morning that is fine).
