Waiting to have a CT scan and the results can be very stressful, and it's natural to feel worried. But I’m afraid until the results are known no one can tell what this mass in your kidney is. It may be nothing to be worried about but it needs to be checked out just to be sure.

Waiting in circumstances like this is never easy but I’m afraid there is no real way round this. Some people find talking it through with family and friends and keeping busy can sometimes help. But until you know more it’s natural to worry.

Let’s hope they agree and will remove as an elective and not just monitor for a few years! That would be toooooo stressful!

As suspected they surgeon want to scan again in 6 months to make a decision again at that point even thought already 30mm ! Would have preferred to have it out !!

Hi DR1971. I have seen the surgeon and am waiting for a date for a partial nephrectomy robotically and laparoscopically. Do you have a date yet for your op? They said mine would be for to six weeks.

Unfortunately not ! I want it done but the surgeon decided to review again at the end of July !!! Hope al goes well for you

I had my partial nephrectomy in August 22 robotically, I had 6or 7 small incisions and was back home 3 days after the op,I’ll be 2 years clear in August hope all goes well for you 

Any lasting side effects? How long before you were back at work or could drive again?

No side effects only  painful for a while I was off work 3 months but went back working from home , can’t actually remember when I started driving again but it was before I went back to work , oh and I had to have injections every day for 28 days to stop blood clots , they were done by my daughter as she is a district nurse
