Waiting to have a CT scan and the results can be very stressful, and it's natural to feel worried. But I’m afraid until the results are known no one can tell what this mass in your kidney is. It may be nothing to be worried about but it needs to be checked out just to be sure.

Waiting in circumstances like this is never easy but I’m afraid there is no real way round this. Some people find talking it through with family and friends and keeping busy can sometimes help. But until you know more it’s natural to worry.

I am in the same position as you. I’m waiting for the results of MDT as I have two masses on each of my kidneys.

I was like you they found a mass on my right kidney in  March 2021 which was cancerous  I had a partial nephrectomy in August that year I’m now nearly 3 years clear ( in remission ) the last scan was in January and there was no evidence of a re occurrence. , so what I’m trying to say is it is treatable with a good outcome … I’m here to prove its,  hard not to worry but try not to 

Was the mass large ? Did your doctors do any tests before deciding to operate ? Thank you for your reply.

It was about 2.5 cm, I had 2 CT scans which went to the mdt meeting they decided to take it out as a precaution  with good margins all round , then test it and it was cancerous , now I’m on a five year plan scans every 6 months ,

Mine is Bosniak 2F 3cm and meeting a surgeon to discuss this week! Hopefully I can convince him to take it out!!! (Via BUPA)
