I had some rectal bleeding and a lot of small piles/polyps along the lining of the inner entrance to my rectum. I have had two positive fit tests with a result of 187.2 ug/g and 23.6 ug/g. consequently, I have been referred for an urgent colonoscopy. I also have very low iron and am anaemic – the doctor has put me on a course of Ferrous Fumerate for this. I have also been absolutely exhausted for several years, more so in the last 12 months and could literally sleep for 24 hours a day and still feel tired. I am trying to take it all in my stride and not be too worried. However, I do have a question; for approximately three months, I have been experiencing chest pain (Doc has prescribed medication for anxiety) and when I go from sitting position to lying down in bed, and sometimes, turning over, I experience a huge pain which makes me physically cry out loud. It feels like it is the middle of my chest/rib cage and causes a shocking moment of severe pain. Could this potentially be connected to something to do with the intestines/ Something the colonoscopy might detect, rather than anxiety? I only wonder because I read another post which mentioned the rib cage in conjunction with a colonoscopy.
