Best bra for post mastectomy

Hi

My name is Sarah,  I have recently been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer, after a brief discussion with the doctor, he thinks a total mastectomy will be best.

Everything seems to be running at a fast pass, so I want to be prepared.  I have looked on line but there are several different types of post surgery bras and don't want to purchase the wrong one and need to quickly get the right one.

Thank you

Sarah

  • Hello Sarah and thanks for your post

I'm sorry to read about your breast cancer diagnosis.

The charity Breast Cancer Now has a list of bra suppliers which you can look at by clicking here.

We also have bras that may be suitable on our website at this link.

You may find it helpful to phone some of the suppliers to ask for their advice. You may also find it helpful to contact your breast care nurse as they are used to talking to women who have questions about choosing the right bra for them. You often have to call and leave them a message and they will get back to you.

I hope this is of some use. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
