I am sorry to hear about your situation and appreciate all this waiting around must be unsettling for you.

Even when a cancer is suspected by a doctor through what they can see, further tests are usually needed. Biopsies and scans can confirm what type of cancer it is and it's location and helps the doctors to stage a cancer ( figure out the size and extent of a cancer). This helps to guide treatment plans moving forward.

Once all the test results are in the findings will be discussed with you. Usually patients are also discussed in a multi disciplinary setting where all the different specialist doctors come together to talk through each patient and what the treatment options are.

Hang in there for now, they will be in touch soon, i'm sure. Keep yourself busy in the meantime to help pass the time.
