Yes, it is common to have some pains after recent breast surgery, particularly in the first few weeks. Sometimes, superficial nerves can be affected, and these cause shooting pains. Try to not over use your arm, and take regular painkillers such as paracetamol.

Let your team know if the pain increases or if the surgery area feels hot/more sore.

yes I had that too it’s normal , I still have the odd twinge now and I’m a year after finishing radiotherapy as long as the pain is not accute I think it should be normal , however if the pain gets bad call your breast nurse x

Just been to nurse said it’s normal. Changed my dressing going to take that off Monday and then see how I go xx just uncomfortable isn’t it xx

I’m defo having radiotherapy. But until I get the results from surgery then I will know if I need chemo. Then they said I will need to go into early menopause. So hormone blockers. Don’t know what ones yet thou. Xx

I’m on tamoxifen, yes I wasn’t in menopause either but am now I’m 49 , how old are you if you don’t mind me asking ? Xx 

That’s fine hun just turned 39 x

aww bless you so young too , tamoxifen are not that bad really to be fair have the occasional day where I get aching bones , had a few flushes but doctor gave me tablets to stop this on the whole they are not as bad as you expect xx

I had the Oncotype DX test it’s a test where it gives you a score to see if chemo is required at my age the score needed to be under 26 xx
