Had my surgery 29/9. Lumpectomy and full lymph node cleanse. Just wondered if it’s Normal to have like a pain where it feels like iv been punched and shooting pains. Iv not had a drain. But swollen a bit now around where the arm pit goes to boob. Iv got an appointment with my doctors Wednesday 11/10 to take dressings off.

    Yes, it is common to have some pains after recent breast surgery, particularly in the first few weeks. Sometimes, superficial nerves can be affected, and these cause shooting pains. Try to not over use your arm, and take regular painkillers such as paracetamol.

    Let your team know if the pain increases or if the surgery area feels hot/more sore.
