Two months ago my father had radiotherapy on his rectum. He has a stoma so his rectum is not attached to his main bowel. However a few weeks after finishing his radiotherapy he started having a stinging pain in his anal area. I have bought soft cushions for him to sit on and a rubber ring (which isn't recommended but needs must). I have bought many creams etc for him to use such as Savlon, Sudacrem, Bepanthen nappy cream, Anusol, Germaloids, Hydrocortisone 1%, Dermol - all of which have been recommended in online chats or by the GP etc. The GP also prescribed Clobetisone but she can't understand the pain as she says there's no infection, no blistering, no redness and no fissures etc in the area. I'm at my wits end and have just ordered Flamigel which again was recommended but that hasn't arrived. I called the specialist nurse and she suggested continuing with the Dermol but that does nothing. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
