I can well imagine your frustration with these PET scan results as they don't seem to have changed what was already known (it is good that they didn't) but remember that might not have been the case, so you are in fact a step forward although I can understand it might not feel that way.

Waiting for tests and the results is inevitably a nerve-wracking time. I think many people feel vulnerable and helpless when being investigated for cancer and more so because of having to submit to being in the system and going with it. It is usually easier to cope with any challenging situation when you have a timeframe to work with and harder when things are up in the air. 

It is important for doctors to have the information they need before they plan any treatment. A treatment plan will be put in place once they are in a position to be able to put one together. 

While you are in the thick of it, try to focus on ways of coping with the waiting and uncertainty. Do what works for you to distract your mind and relieve some of the stress.  Talk to your GP and/or hospital team to see what they can recommend and ask if there are any support services in your local area that you could tap into.

It sounds awful. Have you been told what would happen if it's malignant or not?

They generally just remove polyps at the time of the procedure then get them tested.

I haven't actually seen a doctor since 31st May ! Just getting passed from pillar to post at the moment :sad:
