I'm not a nurse but I have been a melanoma patient for many years and I have some information that will be of a help to you. Adjuvant treatment was only made available to newly diagnosed Stage 2 patients last summer but newly diagnosed Stage 3 patients have been receiving it since 2018.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation but good to hear the surgery went well.

We also have information here about targeted drugs and immunotherapy for melanoma that you might find useful to read. When you click on the different drugs there is information about what they do and the possible side effects as well.

As Angie T has already said there are other sites where you can access information and of course your own specialist team will be able to confirm the name of the drug they are wanting you to have. As Angie T also mentioned as of the end of last year Pembrolizumab here was approved by NICE for  use in stage 2 melanoma patients within the NHS.
