My nephew, 23 years old, has a brain tumour growing from the brain itself so we are told that it cannot be completely removed. My question is this: if the section of brain where the tumour is 'rooted' isn't controlling a vital function, can it be removed anyway? Perhaps losing a sense or an ability is better than losing a life? My apologies if this is a stupid question or it has been posted before, but I'm really clutching at straws.
