Hi,
I took a FIT test this week. There was blood in my stool (which I noticed anyway), and I will now be referred to the specialist doctor for further check-ups.
I took the FIT test because I had been having stomach pain/cramps and had been releasing really smelly wind for a number of days, possibly weeks.
I also lost about 4-5 kg in weight in around a month/six weeks (although I am not sure it is because I keep an eye on what I eat and walk or because of anything sinister in my body).
However, things have become better now after I changed my diet. I eat gluten-free and dairy-free food, as I initially thought that it was gluten that was causing all those issues.
Regarding blood in my stool… I noticed it ONLY once and it was the same sample that I used for the FIT test. I have been checking my stool regularly since then, and it seems that there is no blood (to the naked eye). There was no blood in my stool prior to the FIT test.
I am Indian and 35 (male).
Does anyone know if having blood ONCE in the stool is worrying?
