Hey guys,
I came across ths forum yesterday and I thought it might be a good place to vent!
So in June I noticed a lump in my left armpit, I phoned the GP after a couple of weeks when another one had appeared, and by the following week I had a few. The GP examined me and said I also have some in my neck. They did a FBC and advised me to wait and see if they disappeared in a couple more weeks, in case it was due to something viral.
On 28th July I saw her again as the lumps were still there, and she did a Fast Track referral to Haemotology, with a 2 week priority. However, I have only had one hospital letter with an appointment for the 31st August. When I questioned this last week, the hospital said in the meantime I would have an appointment for a scan, before seeing the Dr at the end of the month. I still haven't received any more appointments, and I guess I'm just wondering if this is normal, as I thought the 2 week rule meant I would have been seen by someone by this Thursday?
I think being in limbo is the hardest part, trying to stay positive but also prepare myself, but the waiting is so stressful!
I was reading a BBC article today that said the wait for cancer testing and care is horrendous at the moment, so I'm just looking for any kind of reassurance!
Thank you for reading :)
