I am starting my radiology tomorrow after lumpectomy last dec  hope you are ok not sure what to expect take care x

I had 4 weeks of radiation, it took 10-15 minutes each day. You don't feel a thing when you are getting it. After 2 weeks my skin started to go red. Use the creams they recommend, I have had worse sun burn! I didn't get fatigued and stayed working every day.

I have found most of the effects to be weeks after, not sure if it's all normal or not. I still have a bit of a tan on one side!

Over time, radiotherapy can lead to changes in the shape, size, and feel of the breast and the breast might feel hard and less stretchy. This is due to a side effect called radiation fibrosis. Sometimes the breast can shrink a little over time too.  But it you are concerned, do get some advice from your hospital team - the breast care nurse is often the easiest person to get in touch with although you usually have to leave them a message and they get back to you later.
