Yoghurt

I am having chemotherapy for breast cancer . I am confused as to which yoghurt I can eat  can anyone help please

  • Hi alot of things are confusing what you can eat and cannot.  With yoghurt it's keep clear of BIO as it's got live bacteria,no live bacteria allowed as you will be sick,I picked one up by mistake only had half a teaspoon and it was back in seconds, check the label well, . also keep clear of citrus fruit .

Alot of food tastes like cardboard but strong flavours weren't to bad (curry and sutch) .alot of people swear best drink is ginger ale . Hopefully others will give you other keep clear of things and enjoyable as well.

Good luck with treatment and hope things go smoothly.

Ps if you aren't sure try a very little bit .

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

You have had some lovely feedback already I see.

As a general rule, avoid supplements, food and drinks containing probiotics such as bio-yoghurts, Actimel, Yakult and supermarket own brands. These products contain live bacteria and although are generally considered safe, need to be used with caution during chemotherapy when your immune function may be weakened.

Eat small snacks throughout the day. Keep a variety of protein-rich snacks on hand that are easy to prepare and eat. These include yogurt, cereal and milk, half a sandwich, a bowl of hearty soup, light puddings, jelly ice-cream, and cheese and crackers.

    I hope this helps,
