Blood in the urine can also be due to some kidney conditions, as well as various bladder issues. Unfortunately, we cannot be more specific than that.

Hopefully your GP will let you know what they plan to do next, if they need more clinical information. They may suggest referring you to the hospital for further tests. Try not to worry too much, and be mindful of Googling too much, as it can increase anxiety rather than help.

Blood in the urine can sometimes just be a one off thing and when people are investigated for it the doctors don't always find a cause. 

I hope you get the chance to talk this over with your doctor soon to find out what they think. In the meantime keep an open mind.
