Hi there, I had a mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction back in December, I was told to take a post surgery bra in with me and the physios put it on me the day after surgery. I had no bandaging just tape stuck over the incisions.

Hi I had a lumpectomy and had to wear a bra after, I bought a post surgery bra, front fastening. Marks and spensers do one that is actually called a post surgery bra, it was great.

You've had some good replies already from people who have had breast surgery.

As it may be uncomfortable initially after surgery wearing a bra, some people may find it more comfortable wearing a sports vest. Everyone is different though also according to shape and size, so do pack both. There is also some good information here on the Breast Cancer Now site on your Operation and Recovery which may be helpful  

I'm sure your breast cancer nurse will also be able to advise you.
