I’m scared I have testicular cancer

So about a year and half ago I had like some pain in my right testicle, which obviously freaked me out. After feeling the pain i then convinced myself off a lump and went to the doctor. When they took a look they couldn't feel anything and i was fine, but now i'm even more worried.

In the past few weeks  i've felt a pain my left testicle this time and also in the bladder area. Now having already gone through this before it thought it was just my mind. I'm a crazy worrier so this time i really feel there is something wrong- i don't think i can fee a lump though just a pain when touching around the back. I'm so worried that a bought a pregnancy test to see as i've read its a way to check- i did two and one of them said positive. SO NOW IM REALLY SCARED - please help!! i don't know if i should go to the doctor again.

(im 15 btw)

I don't know if it's ok to post stuff like this but thanks.

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so worried about your health.

We can't diagnose you (tell you what is wrong) but if you have concerns then do get checked out by your GP. I am sure that they will be able to put your mind at rest.

Testicular cancer is not a common cancer particularly at your age. Anxiety about health can sometimes make any aches and pains feel so much worse.

I would not try and diagnose yourself with a pregnancy kit.  It is far better to discuss any concerns with your GP as that is what they are there for.

If worry about your health is taking over your life do also discuss this with your GP. They may suggest tips to help manage your worries. The NHS have produced some information called 'Every Mind Matters' which you might find helpful to look at here

Sometimes it can help to discuss your concerns with a trusted parent like a mum or dad.

It is much better to share concerns with others and avoid the internet which is far too general and does not help diagnose anyone.

    I hope this helps,

    Take Care,

    Catherine

  • Hi helpplease666.

Welcome to the forum.  It's absolutely fine to post stuff like this. It's why we're here.

I'm not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications.

I've suffered off and on for many years from a painful, but harmless, disease with the tongue twisting name of Epididymitis. It's caused by an infection of a structure near the top of the testicle, called the epididymis. Sometimes it's really painful, and the pain is usually at the top of the affected testicle.  The treatment is a short course of antibiotics, which of course can only be prescribed by a doctor.   A few years ago I have an ultrsound of my testicles and nothing bad was found.  Of course, I don't know whether this might be your problem, but I'm posting this so you know that not every pain is due to cancer. At your age, testicular cancer is pretty rare, so it's more likely to be something else.

Go to your doctor and get examined.
