I am a 63 year old male from Altrincham near Manchester. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in June 2019- stage T3n0m0- moderately differentiated adenocardinoma, very low down in the anus . I had 5 weeks chemoraditation therapy in August 2019 to shrink my tumour but this didn't work . I then had an ELAPE operation - a version of an APR - in December 2019 that lasted 10 hours. I am now waiting for a programme of chemotherapy for 3 months due to start in Feb 2020.
