My name is Darren On Tuesday 13th March 2018
i had a CT scan and i was diagnosed with Adrenocortical Carcinoma Cancer which is a rare form and effects 2 in 1 million cases unfortunately while they gave me a scan they could see i had blood clots on my chest the cancer had spread to my chest,
liver, and kidneys my right side of heart is weak and blood flow to heart is being blocked by tumour and i was also producing too much Adrenaline so my cortisol levels were very high a normal range is between 180- to 600 mine was 1600 even after taking tablets on 2 different occasions it did not come down. They kept me in for 5 days and i came back in to hospital on the sunday 25th March as i was very ill at home and had no mobility.
The big pain in the *** for me has been this water retention in my feet and legs which ive had since January ive been unable to walk properly and do anything myself. But the hospital where I live have been amazing and looked after me , my case has been referred to a hospital in London so will be heading their soon, was supposed to be Thursday 29th March but was too ill to travel and also my right leg is leaking from back of knee and has infection due to water retention
As of 29th March i have been taking a drug called metyrapone to slow down my cortisol level to a decent level and hopefully by the following week, head to London for the recovery ahead and chemo.
