I am a wife, mum, sister and daughter. I lost my mum to cancer on 25th December 2018 aged 67. She is my hero after battling 4 different types of cancer for over 25 years. Just before her last diagnosis we found out that we both have the BRCA1 cancer gene. This diagnosis was too late for my mum but I've undergone an elective double mastectomy and am due to have a hysterectomy soon.
