About Tingatinga

My name is Thomas and has been diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in 2018. It was very aggressive and I started chemotherapy treatment straight away. The first treatment was successful as the tumour started reducing in size. As I proceed with treatment I incured a very number of side effects which meant I had to temporarily suspend chemotherapy . I was advised to continue with the treatment and this time I was doing both chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the same time. I did six weeks of radiotherapy but my situation seems not to improve only to get worse. I was now finding it hard to swallow as some of the food was going through my air waves, hence causing me to cough and unable to eat. I explained this to my consultant and to my surprise I was advised that there was nothing they could do about it. I started using an NG tube and I still complained about my swallowing as I thought there was something that can be done to rectify the problem. After two months the doctors decided to put a stent to help with swallowing and it only lasted for two weeks. As time goes on I started having lots of infections and the consultant decided to stop all the treatment. I am 43 years of age and still able to do most of my day to day living duties despite my situation. Now I am in a idle situation of not knowing what to do next and I am sure there is someone out there who knows and can share some advice for where to go next as I am stark without hope. Please help
