I am 53 years old and married with two children, a 19 year old son and a 15 year old daughter. I have lived in Yorkshire for 25 years now but originally came from the Home Counties.
I work with special educational needs teenagers and am passionate about animals, reading, my family, my close friends, good food, gardening and the environment. We have 3 horses, a dog, 2 cats and numerous chickens.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 ER+ breast cancer in March 2016 following my first screening mammogram. I had a lumpectomy (2 ops as the first op didn't take a big enough margin) followed by radiotherapy. At first I was told my cancer was HER2+ but was later told that the 1st tests were inconclusive and the cells were tested using a more sensitive test and came back negative. This meant that I didn't need chemotherapy.
I was then placed on Anastrozol but didn't get on with that so am currently on Tamoxifen.
