8th May 2014 My Dad Roy (58) was diagnosed with incurable Oesophageal cancer with mets to liver and possible lung. Although i say that i accept the outcome, i am contacting as many contacts as poss to find that cure.
His incurable cancer is only incurable until that cure is found.
2nd June 2014 Dad started EXC chemo. Next day Dad phoned me and said he felt great and had been eating lots (for him). Day 10 Dad has still been eating and eating things that he couldnt eat before. He is also trying to do exercise - goes for walks of an evening with my sister. Last 4 days he has stayed in bed until 1 pmish but seems to have a bit more energy of an evening.
Day 12 and dad seems to have so much energy and is eating more stuff like bread and cakes so hopefully things are going in the right direction. As the days go by dad got less tried and more hungry. Day 20 Dad ate cornflakes, whole sausage, pizza, pasta and crusty garlic bread - its been 3mths since he could do that.
23rd June - dad due 2nd chemo but had to fight hospital to give it to him even though he is fit enough to have it. They did not know who they were dealing with. No-one plays God to my dad!
Saturday 5th july dad ate steak and chips and 2 glasses of wine.
7th July - really feel awful for saying this but i hate my dad today. A family argument left him feeling the need to hurt my mum emotionally. He refused to eat and drink all day and not take his meds. What a stupid ***!!!!! The only person he is hurting is himself
A lot has happened since i last updated. dad has had 3 chemo sessions and just about to go for his 4th (fingers crossed). he is doing very well. he has put on about 8kg and now we have to put him on a diet so he dont put on to much weight!!! his tumours have shrunk by about 50% so fingers crossed it continues. the results for HER2 came back as negative so no Herceptin for him. i am now looking into oestrogen receptors - tamferion and immunology treatments.
