A partner and mum to 4, just starting on the long road of supporting my partner and his probable diagnosis of bowel cancer.
So a little update.
Mark has bowel cancer.. T2 N2 Mx, (stage 3 I believe they said) He will need a life long stoma. Chemo and radiotherapy starting in early 2017.
Mark was upstaged to T3N2Mx in May.
His ileostomy was fitted on 14th Jan but the hole in the muscle needed making bigger, so it was redone on 21st Jan.
Mark had 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy, which did show 1 nodule to have shrunk from 11mm to 6mm. The bulk of the tumour became slightly smaller too
Mark faces a mahoosive operation in a month or so to remove ....the tumour, bladder, prostate, seminal vessels and his tail bone. The sciatic nerve maybe coming out too, which will lead to a drop foot. So lots of physio and therapy will be needed.
