71 year old white woman, retired from working in the NHS for more than 50 years. Colon cancer detected on routine screening last September, confirmed by colonoscopy. Surgery to remove lesion in sigmoid colon November 2023. Told all clear, no spread, no cells in lymph glands. may 2024 follow up CT scan showed something in the liver, confirmed as metastatic in July 2024. Surgery to remove 60% liver, tumour and gall bladder at end of July 2024. Feeling uncertain about future and risk of further secondary spread elsewhere. A month post surgery still feeling fragile and ‘unwhole’.
