68 year old woman, unfortunately 6 months ago diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal lung cancer, which had metastersised to a number of ares.
For the 6 month prior to my cancer diagnosis, I'd been diagnosed with Vertigo, resulting in numerous GP appointments, unfortunately seeing different doctors and being given numerous exercise print offs from the internet!. I had no symptoms other than a previous diagnosis of COPD in 2018, as a then smoker, a slight cough.
Hubby and I, decided to pay privately for an MRI head scan and blood test, both of which were refused by GP's when requested.
The blood test came back as abnormal and the MRI Scan resulted in the finding of secondary metastases in my brain! After six months of asking for help, the evidence of what was actually wrong, started the ball finally rolling.
I am now endeavouring to stay positive, enjoy every day as best I can, whilst I undertake the treatment regime, supplied by my Oncologist and the many people at my cancer centre. Treatments to date - Cyberknife, Targeted chemo and Radiotherapy - none of which are to cure my cancer but hopefully to extend my life!!
