About River71

I was diagnosed with Hurthle Cell thyroid carcinoma in May 2023 after a partial thyroidectomyand removal of a 6cm tumour from my neck. The surgeon made a mistake during the op and my vocal cords on one side are permanently  paralysed which has affected my voice hugely.

I'm due to have completion surgery to take out the rest of my thyroid soon and then Radioactive Iodine therapy a few weeks after that.

I'd like to find out more about how other people have coped with the same kind of treatments and with cancer generally.
