Hi. Following an ultra-sound scan to see if I had gall stones, I was diagnosed with a grade 3 renal cell carcinoma in June 2015. I had my left kidney removed and, thankfully, the cancer had not spread beyond the kidney. I am now having 6 monthly scans and the first two have thankfully been clear. I find that I think about cancer an awful lot and every little pain or head ache makes me worried that the cancer is returning but I know that I have an awful lot to be thankful for - early diagnosis, support of friends and family, an excellent consultant etc - and I am so thankful that I am still here.
