About Once-a-Lion

69 years old, diagnosed last year with metastatic prostate cancer and am on limited life expectancy.

In June last year i was peeing blood badly for about 3 hours then it stopped. GP lost sample so gave another 5 days later which proved positive for blood. Before I could be referred I collapsed with a partially lung collapse.

Spent 7 days in hospital then had a scan and finger up bum. I nearly went through the ceiling. Went for camera up willy and was unceremoniously told I had terminal cancer. No chance to have wife present or anything. Consultant was not happy about that.

PSA was 12.8.

Had all 3 scans, MRI, PET and Nuclear.

Started on Degeralix injections and Apalutamide.

Changed Degeralix to Relugolix tablets due to adverse reaction to injection 4 months ago.

PSA steady at 0.05 and testosterone level 0.

On 16 tablets a day but they doing their job. Even got tablets that have stopped my hot flushes. Alendronic Acid, stating, pain killers and the HRT tablets.

Ploughed weight on. Got sore moobs. Fatigued all the time.

Cancer had left my prostate and was already in my bones, mainly my pelvis and thigh bones.

Am hoping I'll see my 70th next July and then maybe even my 75th.

Chins up and keep fighting.
