About Nyhiaanne

I am asurvivor of Colorectal cancer.7years allclear as of July 2017..l am now a Colostomate so wear stomabag.which sometimes is a stuggle .lam 60 with 3 grown up daughters twin grandchildren boy and girl also a younger grandson.lhave now retired but l was a Postwoman for many years doing varied duties thereof. This had lots of up and downs and to the end mainly a clash of personalities with a certain manager l was off with stress which led onto aniexty and depression.. Fortunately for me l received Ill health retirement. To me a great bonus due to realising l could not return to that working enviroment again. So now feel at a bit of a loose end trying to figure out what lm to do with my life now.I travel long haul a few times a year and really enjoy my happy place in the Caribean. My children are mixed race fathers being Jamaican. So love this cultural way of life the music the food the sunshine Theres plenty to do and see .lenjoy finding out of the way places rivers to stop by and relaxing in the mineral waters its quite moutainous so lots of springs .not the commercial place like Dunns river for example. My outlook on life is to give thanks for my second chance and to praise the Doctors and Nurses who work tirelessly in the NHS .. l was fortunate to be refered for rehabilitation purposes.l was welcome to use their small gym facilities also coffee mornings plus check ups with Doctor also therapy sessions aromatherapy massages even the occasional haircut. I also had Counselor who l met every couple of weeks to discuss various aspects of life family issues and everyday living. It s a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere you are made to feel welcome . Then obviously the rehab had a time limit n youre set free to go back out in the world.Theres is an excellent service and l feel priviledged to have been offered and brought back to a certain normality . Your mindset is definetly altered from before Cancer RadioChemo therapy. Your outlook can be confused between the positives and negatives a wake up call in a sense giving you the opportunity to live again. Theres always the element of doubt which crops up a lot.so to have a forum like this one is a gift in a sense that there are others who have had there own Cancer experience eho will and can offer support and some guidance in discussions of their pluses and minuses of the big C. Thankyou. Having a Positive Mental Attitude is also Key....
