I am a 64 year old female. I am known as Mags to family anf friends. I am a mum of 3. Two sons and a Daughter. Grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 3.
I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer on 31st March 2016. I had a hysterectomy in May 2016. Since then my life has been turned upside down, like so many people. This past months have been very difficult. I am going through a second menapause worse than the first one. I wasnt informed that this can happen to some women, due to the remaining tiny ammount of hormone in your body being stopped abruptly.
I had just retired from work in September 2015 and was looking forward to having some time off to myself to get my Christmas shopping done and look at what i would like to do in the new year.
Due to other health issues id taken early retirement and went for a full check up after leaving work. I had been having some difficulties with pain and discomfort in my abdomen and had started to find blood after going to the toilet. After extensive tests had been completed, i was informed that i had 'womb' cancer. I did not have time to think about anything at the time, i was still in shock when i was told i would need urgent surgery. It was about 3 or 4 months later when everything was starting to sink in just what had happened to me, thats when my life went topsy turvy and still is at the moment.
