Hi, I'm 51 years young althoughnot feeling too young right now!
I was diagnosed with stage 1b lung cancer in December. I had no symptoms and it was picked up during tests for a gastric condition.
I had an upper left lobectomy at the beginning of February which went well and i am recovering very well.
At the moment my motivation to go anywhere or do anything is low and i hope the better weather will give me the push i need.
I'm missing work but won't be able to return until July.
I start chemotherapy mid March etoposide and cisplatin. 4 rounds over 12 weeks.
I can honestly say I'm terrified but just need to get through it and be vigilant with any symtoms or side effects. Its a necessary evil.
My cancer is rare and aggressive hence the chemo. Its large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. A 3.5cm x 4cm tumour.
So first few hurdles over now to the next. I kerp thinking about my new decking and garden furniture and the fact the dog and i can relax outside in summer....even if i have to wear a hat LOL!
