I am a 47 year old single mum with an 11 daughter and 12 year old son. Before my recent diagnosis I was working as a teaching assistant in a primary school and began studying for my teaching degree in 2021, which I am continuing to do.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2013, had a mastectomy on my left breast in December 2013 and was told in January 2014 that the cancer was all gone, there was no need for Radio or Chemotherapy. I had a few reconstructive surgeries over the following years but that was all until June 2022 when I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in the bone.
Life is different, as you would expect with Stage II cancer, a compression on your spinal cord and five fractures on your spine. But I'm living my life as best as I can from my hospital bed in my dining room surrounded by the most amazing children, family, and friends anyone could ask for!!!
