Hi, I'm Kelly but most call me "Kells" (that's why I'm called Kellykells). I'm 15 and in October I was diagnosed with DSRCT which stands for desmoplastic small round cell tumour. It's a rare cancer mostly found in children and teenagers and it's a sarcoma. My tumours are located in the right ovary and the omentum and the type of cancer I have is aggressive so I have to have intensive chemotherapy, radiotherapy and possible surgery sometime soon. Luckily although my cancer has spread, it hasn't touched any of my major organs. Before I was getting cancerous fluid (ascites) in my stomach and it was incredibly painful so surgeons fitted a drain into me and at the same time they put a hickman line in, took some bone marrow from my hips and did a biopsy. Altogether they took 12 litres of fluid from me and with the chemo all of the fluid is gone so now I'm not in pain, I'm just very weak and skinny! It would be nice to talk to someone in a similar situation so if you are, please send me a message.
