Im 64 years old, after caring for my husband of 44 years whilst living in Spain who I lost to cancer in March 2013 after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer which had spread throughout his body.I returned home to the UK in September 2014 to be with my daughters and their families.
In December I was diagnosed after a routine mammogram as having stage 2 breast cancer, even though Id had a mammogram 12 months before in Spain.
As there were also precancer cells in another part of the breast I underwent a full mastectomy in early February 2015.Thankfully the lymph nodes were all clear.I am having reconstruction later this year with reduction to my other breast.Its been an horrendous almost 3 years but hopefully all will be well now.I find out tomorrow if I need any further treatment.
