About IanT

Hi all, just got my diagnosis yesterday for oesophageal cancer. We still aren't sure of the exact staging, but the fact that symptoms usually start at a relatively advanced stage is obviously a concern. It has been a very fast moving process so far with so many scans, tests etc with 2 more to come. I know it has spread to 1 lymph node very close by and only 2 small spots, so I am having a PET scan to hopefully confirm it hasn't gone further. If this is the case, hopefully they can offer me surgery, which, although sounds gruelling, is the best chance for a "cure". Has anyone else had similar ? I have a wonderful supporting wife and family, so feel absolutely blessed in that department, but having people who are having similar experiences is also very comforting. :)
